Storefront Summer Hours Announced
Our storefront at 226 South Indiana
Avenue in Englewood will have different opening hours over the
summer months. Instead of our normal Thursday night opening, we
will be open on Wednesday mornings
from 9:30am until 11:30am. These hours will be in effect from
May 31, 2017, through August 9, 2017. Once school re-opens, we
will return to our normal operating hours on Thursday evenings. Have a
safe and fun summer and thank you for your continued support.
Seventh Annual Golf Tournament Fund Raiser A Great Success
Once again, our annual fund raiser was
well-supported by area golfers. The tournament was held on April 15, 2017,
at Oyster Creek Golf Club and we raised over $8,000 for the benefit
of needy children in our community. Our heartfelt thanks to
all who contributed to our success and to Denny Burnham and his
staff at Oyster Creek. You may view photos from the event by
Marcia Louden Honored
Marcia, the former principal of LA
Ainger Middle School, is one of our founding members, and as such
she deserves recognition for our success in the community.
Marcia has retired from our Board of Directors but her contributions
to our organization over the years cannot be overstated. To
recognize that achievement, and to honor her involvement from our
beginning, Kids' Needs has established a perpetual scholarship fund
in Marcia's name.
Each year, we award two scholarships to
graduating seniors and that practice will continue. From now
on, however, there will be a third scholarship awarded in Marcia's
name. We surprised Marcia with this award at our recent picnic
honoring our volunteers. Pictured below are Marcia and Chuck
Dever. Chuck is the husband of our founder, Ann Dever, and has
remained active in our charity.
